About Us
We believe that rescue has "no boundaries," therefore we are proud to rescue animals from all over the world.
Pixies & Paws rescues dogs and cats from shelters in the local area as well as from other parts of the United States. Many rescued animals come from southern states because of significant overcrowding, extremely high euthanasia rates, and poor spay/neuter programs in certain areas of Georgia, Kentucky and Florida. Due to the mass poisoning of dogs in the Middle East, we are proud to rescue from Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkey.
Our Vision
Pixies & Paws Rescue is committed to helping poor, abandoned and often neglected and abused animals no matter their origin.
What We Do
We are a New Jersey based rescue dedicated to saving dogs and cats, regardless of their origin. Pixies & Paws Rescue has helped hundreds of animals find their homes with loving families in the New Jersey and New York area.
Our Community
Our rescue relies entirely on donations and a network of volunteers. These dedicated and amazing individuals are are essential in finding our animals their forever homes.

Pixies and Paws Rescue
Foster SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
1. Nutrition & Feeding
Provide high-quality, species-appropriate food based on age, weight, and health. Follow feeding
schedules (adults: 2–3 meals/day; juveniles: more frequent). Ensure constant access to fresh water.
Monitor appetite daily and report changes. Record intake for animals with special dietary needs.
2. Physical Examination
Complete an intake check upon arrival, including body condition, weight, hydration,
eyes/ears/nose/mouth, skin/coat, wounds/parasites, mobility, and behavior. Perform weekly checks
and document findings. Report abnormalities promptly.
3. Emergency Veterinary Care
Recognize emergencies: difficulty breathing, seizures, collapse, severe vomiting/diarrhea, bleeding,
trauma, or inability to urinate/defecate. Contact the rescue coordinator immediately. Transport only to
approved veterinary clinics. Keep emergency contacts accessible.
4. Pain Management
Watch for signs of pain (limping, vocalization, hiding, aggression, decreased appetite). Administer
medications only as prescribed. Do not give OTC or human medications. Document response to
treatment.
5. Vaccinations
Follow the organization’s vaccination schedule. Use approved veterinary providers only. Maintain
accurate records and monitor for post-vaccine reactions.
6. Parasite Control
Maintain routine prevention for fleas, ticks, heartworm, and intestinal parasites. Administer treatments
as directed. Keep living areas clean (bedding, crates, litter). Isolate animals with suspected infestations.
7. Medical Limitations
No anesthesia or surgical procedures are permitted in foster homes. All medical procedures must be
performed at approved veterinary facilities.
8. Humane Euthanasia
Only performed by a licensed veterinarian at an approved clinic. Decisions are made in coordination
with the rescue and veterinary team, following humane and ethical standards.
9. Infectious Disease Control
Isolate animals showing signs of illness immediately. Practice strict sanitation: hand hygiene and
disinfect surfaces, bowls, and bedding. Limit cross-contact between animals. Report symptoms and
follow quarantine protocols.

A note from our founder
Pixies and Paws, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of New York, began in New Jersey in 2020, where we continue to focus our rescue efforts. Our main goal is to assist needy animals anywhere, regardless of zip code.
In order to best assure the animal's continued welfare, even after leaving our direct supervision, Pixies & Paws Rescue adheres to strict standards of care, temporary foster placement and permanent placement.
Pixies & Paws Rescue
Provides appropriate vetting for each animal according to the state of the animal while in rescue
Recruits and approves foster homes to house the animal
Requires and/or provides the spay/neuter of every animal in the possession of the rescue in the past or present
Requires application, personal references, vet reference, home visit and adoption fee for adoption of any animal. Adopters may be denied for any reason.
Our goals remain steadfast: To ameliorate the plight of abandoned, sick, injured, or neglected animals in New Jersey and surrounding areas; to promote and require spay and neuter as a means of controlling the tragic pet population problem, and to offer refuge, whenever possible, to the neediest animals, where ever they may be.
